Graton's New Casino Expansion
Graton Resort & Casino is set to launch the next phase of its $1 billion expansion on May 4, marking a new chapter in dining, entertainment, and gaming offerings.
New Non-Smoking Casino
The centerpiece of this opening is a 144,000-square-foot, non-smoking casino. This new addition will feature a state-of-the-art poker room, a high-limit slots lounge, and nearly 2,000 brand-new slot machines, including some games making their global debut.
Playbook Sports Bar
Introducing the Playbook Sports Bar, this venue will serve as a game-day destination for Sonoma County. It will offer abundant screens for viewing, combined with elevated comfort food in a lively social setting. The 168-seat venue will include a dramatic halo screen and individual TVs at tables for a more personalized experience.
Culinary Innovations
The expansion will showcase a selection of original food and beverage concepts curated by award-winning chef Roy Ellamar and VP of Culinary Operations Jennifer Murphy-Ellamar. Highlights will include the resort's first rooftop restaurant, a dynamic sports bar, and a shop specializing in artisanal doughnuts and desserts. Additionally, the new gaming floor will be completely non-smoking.
Community and Economic Impact
This expansion positions Graton as a culinary hub in Northern California, combining chef-driven dining with a comprehensive wine program that reflects the local region. The resort plans to introduce further food and beverage concepts and nightlife experiences later this year, along with the opening of a new hotel tower containing 200 guest rooms and an adults-only pool in 2027.
Greg Sarris, Tribal Chairman, stated, “Graton’s expansion marks a defining milestone for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and our entire community. We’re bringing new ideas and experiences to the region that showcase incredible culinary talent, local ingredients, and the unique character of Sonoma County. This growth will create hundreds of local jobs and reinforces our long-term commitment to developing a world-class destination that benefits the region that has supported us.”
Design and Cultural Integration
The design of the expansion harmonizes with Graton’s existing aesthetic while incorporating modern architectural elements. The space features sleek, contemporary finishes alongside cultural references that celebrate the Tribe’s heritage, including curated art installations throughout the new wing.
In an effort to enhance guest comfort, the entire expansion wing will be entirely non-smoking, representing a notable progression in the evolution of the resort.
